NY court sends rabbi to jail after groping IDF soldier

An Orthodox Rabbi on Thursday was sentenced to two months in prison for groping an IDF officer on a flight to New York, AP reported.
A magistrate judge sent Rabbi Gavriel Bidany to jail after reading the sentence in a Brooklyn federal court. Bidany had been free on a $500,000 bail, AP said.
The 47-year-old rabbi was convicted at a nonjury trial. The IDF officer testified that Bidany fondled her while she was asleep on a Delta flight from Tel Aviv in March.
The rabbi claimed he never touched the soldier, but the court said he found the victim's testimony "wholly believable," according to AP.
