'NY Times': Jihadis receiving most arms sent to fight Assad

The majority of the arms shipments from Qatar and Saudi Arabia to Syrian opponents of President Bashar Assad are falling into the hands of hardline jihadists, The New York Times reported Monday, citing US officials and Middle East diplomats.
“The opposition groups that are receiving the most of the lethal aid are exactly the ones we don’t want to have it,” a US official familiar with White House assessments of the situation told the Times.
According to the report, US officials have become frustrated at their inability to vet the groups receiving arms shipments.
