NYC mayor, ADL condemn anti-Semitic vandalism in Brooklyn

NEW YORK – Anti-Semitic graffiti including swastikas, mentions of the Ku Klux Klan and profanities against Jews were painted on surfaces in a Brooklyn neighborhood early Friday morning, prompting the creation of a special New York Police Department task force.
The Anti-Defamation league condemned the “shocking” incident of anti-Semitism on Ocean Parkway in Midwood. Three cars were also set on fire in the spree of graffiti on sidewalks and benches.
“We condemn in the strongest possible terms these shocking acts of anti-Semitism,” said Ron Meier, ADL New York Regional Director. “The Nazi imagery and the burning of cars in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood is a chilling echo of a troubling past.”
Meier noted that the incident took place on the 73rd anniversary of Kristallnacht in Germany.
