'NYT': J'lem only gave US few hours notice of building plan

Israel only gave the United States a few hours notice of its decision to approve 3,000 housing units in east Jerusalem and the West Bank, according to a senior official cited by The New York Times on Friday.
The official added that US President Barak Obama did not call Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu following notice of the plan.
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton criticized the plans for more settlement construction Friday and called on Jerusalem to bolster the Palestinian Authority, even as she disagreed with the Palestinian decision to seek unilateral recognition at the UN.
