Obama extends asset freeze against Hizbullah supporters

US President Barack Obama Thursday renewed an executive order which freezes the financial assets of anyone who works with Lebanese terror group Hizbullah and contributes to forces of instability and chaos in Lebanon.
"While there have been some recent positive developments in the Syrian-Lebanese relationship, continuing arms transfers to Hezbollah that include increasingly sophisticated weapons systems serve to undermine Lebanese sovereignty," Obama said in a message to Congress quoted by AFP.
The original executive order was enacted by the previous president, George W. Bush, on August 1, 2007 and was due to expire August 1, 2010.
