Obama offers full US support for Japan quake reconstruction

TOKYO - US President Barack Obama told Japan Prime Minister Naoto Kan that Washington wanted to give full support to Japan's mid- and long-term reconstruction following Friday's devastating earthquake and tsunami, Japan's chief cabinet secretary said on Thursday.
Yukio Edano also told a news conference that the US had offered to send nuclear experts to help with a crisis at the quake-damaged Daiichi facility, where overheating reactors and spent fuel rods threatened a catastrophe.
