Oregon lawmaker accused of misconduct to resign

WASHINGTON - Oregon's Democratic Representative David Wu, who has been accused of an unwanted sexual encounter with the teenage daughter of a campaign contributor, will resign, his spokesman said on Tuesday.
Wu, 56, had already announced this week that he would not seek an eighth term. Nancy Pelosi, the top-ranking Democrat in the US House of Representatives, had referred the matter to the House Ethics Committee.
