Ort Israel wins contempt

Ort Israel won a contempt of court petition against World Ort, which has continued to use the word "Ort" in its activities in Israel despite a court order not to do so. Deputy Haifa District Court Judge Gideon Ginat fined World Ort - the world's largest Jewish education and vocational training non-governmental organization - NIS 30,000 and ordered it to pay NIS 30,000 plus VAT to Ort Israel for court costs. Ort Israel was represented in the case by attorneys Aharon Pollak, Aviad Ofir and Dana Sagiv. Ginat handed down the original order instructing World Ort to stop using the name "Ort" in April 2008.
