PA official: Security prisoners to hold hunger strike

Palestinian Authority Minister of Prisons Issa Kraka on Sunday said security prisoners in several Israeli prisons would hold a one-day hunger strike to protest the worsening of their conditions, Israel Radio reported.
Worsening prison conditions were announced by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu two weeks ago as a method of putting pressure on Hamas to release Gilad Schalit, and include the cessation of privileges such as high-speed internet access, frequent family visits, and courses resulting in MA and PhD degrees.
Kraka declared that if conditions are not improved, the protests could spiral into an "intifada in the prisons."
