Palestinian Authority postpones municipal elections

RAMALLAH— Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad's office said Thursday that local elections set for mid-July had been postponed, and no new date had been set.
Palestinians say the postponement indicates turmoil inside Fatah, where rival factions are running candidates against each other. Also, it was unclear how Fatah would run elections in Hamas-ruled Gaza.
Gaza Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri reacted to the delay by calling the elections "unconstitutional."
