Palestinian charged with Ashkelon man's murder

The southern district attorney's office filed an indictment in the Beersheba District Court over the Passover holiday, charging a Palestinian man with the murder of an Ashkelon resident, the Justice Ministry announced on Sunday.

According to the indictment, 21-year-old Nur Aladin Hamisa, a Palestinian Authority resident, stabbed his victim - only as R. - in the neck on March 19, after beating him.

Allegedly, Hamisa then changed his bloody clothes and fled, dressed in R.'s clothes, leaving R. to bleed to death in his apartment.

Hamisa is also charged with illegal residency in Israel, theft and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
