Palestinian family evicted from Ras al-Amud

Jerusalem police are in the process of evicting the Hamdallah family from their homes in Ras al-Amud after the court ordered the property has Jewish ownership. The area is planned as an extension of the Jewish compound of Ma'ale hazetim, which has more than 100 apartments in the first two stages.

Left-wing activists are gathering at the scene in order to attempt to stop the eviction.

According to a spokesman from Ir Amim, the Hamdallah family lost their years long court petition against the eviction three weeks ago and today was the first day they could be evicted.
