Palestinians: Israel arrests Hamas leader in West Bank

Israeli security forces detained Hamas leader in the West Bank Hassan Yousef after raiding his home near Ramallah overnight Monday, the Ma'an news agency reported.
Hamas officials claimed that soldiers ransacked Yousef's home and detained his son as well.
“This is part of Israel’s escalation against Hamas, and legitimate Palestinian leaders,” Ma'an quoted Sami Abu Zuhri as saying in response to the arrest.
Yousef was released from an Israeli prison in August after having served time for membership in a terrorist organization.
