Paris: Outtara's supporters take over Ivory Coast embassy

Supporters of Ivory Coast's presidential contender Alassane Ouattara on Monday staged a takeover of their country's Paris embassy after followers of rival Laurent Gbagbo left, AFP reported quoting a police source.
"They have taken control of the embassy which was empty," a police source told AFP. "They are indeed Ouattara supporters."
The takeover occurred after Paris said it would recognize Ouattara's envoy over instead of the envoy of contested strongman Gbagbo, who has hung on to power since a disputed November 28 presidential election.
