Peace Now to Barak: Pardon Golani soldiers jailed for shirt

Peace Now, in a letter to Defense Minister Ehud Barak Sunday, called for the defense minister to pardon the Golani soldiers who were sent to jail for wearing political t-shirts at an official ceremony last week.

The letter said, "There are many in the Right who believe that the IDF belongs to them, and are trying to turn its soldiers into supporters of the Right," Army Radio reported. Peace Now added that according to the soldiers, right-wing organizers instructed them to be photographed with the shirts, saying they were surely donated by radicals.
