Peres secures release of Israeli who entered Egypt armed

Egypt released Sagi Shahori Tuesday night, four days after the Israeli accidentally crossed the border on his motorcycle last week, following intense efforts throughout the week by government and IDF officials.
Shahori's release was secured by the intervention of President Shimon Peres, Israel Radio reported.
Shahori, 36, from Kadesh Barnea (Nitzanei Sinai), was reportedly found in possession of a handgun by Egyptian security forces on the wrong side of the border.
The fact he was armed significantly prolonged efforts to secure his return.
