Peres to undergo surgery to remove hernia after Canada trip

Physicians discovered a hernia on President Shimon Peres's abdomen wall during his state visit to Canada, his office announced on Friday, after the president complained of stomach cramps at the start of his trip.
The president underwent medical treatment at a local hospital in Canada and continued with his tour according to schedule.
He is expected to undergo surgery at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer near Tel Aviv on Saturday, when he will return from his trip to North America.
Peres will be discharged on Sunday, according to the statement.
