Plesner attacks Netanyahu on universal service

MK Yohanan Plesner attacked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Saturday, saying that he is leading Israel to a point where "it will be difficult to prevent the collapse of the 'people's army.'"
The Kadima MK who was charged with reaching a compromise with the Likud on drafting a replacement for the Tal Law, said however, he believes a solution can be reached in the days ahead. The Tal Law will expire on August 1.
While attacking the prime minister's ties to the haredi Shas party, Plesner called on Netanyahu to adopt his committee's recommendations that every Israeli citizen be required to perform some sort of national or military service.
