Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday evening ordered a probe into the acquisition of health basket drugs, which cost the state about NIS 6 billion annually. "We must act with transparency. These are public funds â€¦ and we must not pay exaggerated prices," he said. Until now, kupot holim (HMOs) were not obligated to disclose the details of such transactions or allow them to be monitored. Deputy Health Minister Ya'acov Litzman told the prime minister that he would look into the issue.
