PMO: Netanyahu is in constant contact with Schalit family

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is in constant contact with captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit's family and feels their pain, the Prime Minister's Office said Thursday.

A statement cited by Israel Radio stressed that efforts to secure the soldier's release are continuing, though Hamas has not responded to Israel's most recent offer for over a year.

The PMO statement came in response to an accusation by the soldier's grandfather, Zvi Schalit, that every time the media discusses Gilad, Netanyahu invites Noam and Aviva Schalit to a meeting that does not yield any results.
