PMO's public relations chief resigns after Eshel scandal

The public relations chief in the Prime Minister's Office, Dr. Yoaz Hendel, tendered his resignation on Tuesday following criticism by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on the office's handling of the Natan Eshel harassment scandal.
According to Channel 2 news, Netanyahu criticized senior staffers in the PMO for concealing information about the charges against PMO chief of staff Eshel, including the harassment of a female staffer, for "more than a month."
Netanyahu reportedly told the staffers that he was disappointed they did not contact him first with the charges, adding that the he would have gone directly to the attorney-general's office in light of the accusations.
Hendel announced his departure from the PMO shortly after the comments by the prime minister, according to Channel 2.
Eshel will resign from his position and agreed not to return to civil service as part of a plea bargain following civil investigations against him.
