PM's stance on stipends for Torah study to be 'tested'

The Prime Minister will be "tested" Sunday prior to the Ministerial Committee on Legislation's discussion on a bill that will reinstate stipends for those who study Torah full-time, said the Kadima Party in a statement released Saturday.
"Netanyahu will have to determine whether his political survival is more important to him than the Supreme Court decision," the statement said, referring to the Court's ruling that the stipend guarantees are discriminatory because they were not given to university students as well.
If Netanyahu circumvents the Supreme Court decision, it will be an attack on democracy, the statement said.
