Police break up Jewish, Arab clashes in Hebron, 2 arrested

Police and IDF soldiers were forced to separate dozens of Israelis and Palestinians in Hebron on Saturday in order to prevent a potential violent encounter between the two groups.
One Jewish woman and one Palestinian were detained during the incident.
Police and IDF soldiers were continuing to maintain a presence in the area in order to prevent further disturbances.
Army Radio quoted Palestinian sources as saying clashes occurred after settlers threw stones at the home of a Palestinian prisoner released as part of the deal to free kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Schalit.
Saturday marked "Shabbat Hebron," in which Israelis visit the West Bank city for the reading of the Torah portion of Hayei Sarah. Likud MK Danny Danon gave an address as part of festivities in the city on Saturday.
