Three hundred police officers and tax authority officials carried out a vice operation against a ring running a gambling website that brought in NIS 340 million. In the raids, over 30 arrests were made throughout the country, tens of millions in assets were confiscated and 160 bank accounts in various banks were seized. Police learned in 2008 of a Yehud resident running the site, which netted millions of shekels in profit every month. The tax authorities and police have targeted illegal gambling, including Web sites, in recent operations.
