Police commissioner opens Twitter account

Police Insp.-Gen. Yochanan Danino opened a Twitter account to allow members of the public to follow his daily activities, police announced on Sunday.

"The Israel Police is one of the largest public organizations in the country... and is always seeking to improve its connection to the public. Due to the success of our Facebook page, which has over 45,000 members, it was decided to also launch a Twitter account," police spokeswoman Sarit Philipson said in a statement.

"All members of the public in Israel and abroad are invited to follow the Twitter account," she added.
