Police kill gunman after Kafr Kassem restaurant shooting

A masked gunman was shot dead by police in a restaurant in the heart of Kafr Kassem on Sunday night.
Police said that four Rosh Ha'ayin detectives were on an undercover operation when they saw the attacker run into the restaurant. The detectives followed the man into the eatery, but he managed to shoot one of the customers in the legs, lightly wounding him.
According to police, when the detectives shouted at the attacker to stop, he pointed his gun at them, at which point the detectives shot the man, critically wounding him.
He died of his wounds at Petah Tikva’s Beilinson Hospital.
