Police suspect doctor killed her lover's wife, ex-wife

In a case seemingly ripped from a soap opera plot line, police announced Tuesday the arrest of an anesthesiologist on suspicion that she, along with her lover, conspired to murder his wife and his ex-wife, both of who died under mysterious circumstances.
The doctor, a 45-year-old resident of the Sharon region, was arrested by police on Monday night after the YAMAR central investigative unit carried out a lengthy investigation into the death of Jenny Cooper, who passed away on August 21st, 2009. Her lover was previously married to Orit Coopershnitz, who died on January 1st, 1994. Both of Cooper’s former wives died in what were ruled natural deaths.
The doctor’s lover was also arrested on Tuesday, and police said they are examining whether or not he played a role in the alleged conspiracy.
In the Kfar Saba Magistrate’s court on Tuesday, police presented the state with a request to charge the doctor with premeditated manslaughter and conspiracy to commit a crime, in the case of Jenny Cooper. The court extended her remand for two days until Thursday, and as of Tuesday afternoon, the second suspect’s hearing was still ongoing.
The doctor has denied all the charges against her.
