Police suspend officer from Beersheba murder case

An initial internal police investigation of the police reaction to the Beersheba murder of Gadi Vichman has led to the suspension of the officer who was supposed to have responded to Vichman's wife's initial complaint to the police, Israeli media reported Wednesday.
Vichman was stabbed by 22-year-old Eden Ohion after asking noisy youths outside his home to keep the noise down late at night.
The officer was suspended after the investigation revealed that the officer failed to arrive at the scene despite having claimed to have done so.
Vichman's wife had called the police to complain about the noisy youths two hours before the murder and Vichman only confronted the youths after no police had arrived to resolve the situation.
