Poll: Most Britons support gay marriage

LONDON - Most British people support same-sex marriage but fewer than half of Conservatives do, according to a survey on Wednesday, as governments in Scotland, England and Wales propose allowing gay marriage by 2014.
Fifty-five percent of Britons were in favor of gay marriage in a poll of more than 1,700 adults carried out by YouGov.
But only 46 percent of Conservative voters approved while 48 percent were against.
