Protest leaders call for 'national strike,' more rallies

Daphne Leef, who ignited the social protest movement this summer, called for a renewal of protests and a "national strike" during a press conference in Tel Aviv's Rabin Square Tuesday morning.
The heads of the protest movement will convene one rally on October 29, to be followed three days later by what they call the "'first national strike in Israel's history."
The strike is meant to include "all citizens across the country, pupils, students and workers, on strike for one day, as an act of protest against the difficult social situation in the State of Israel and the government's outrageous disregard for the protest wave."
