Public urged not to use high-energy appliances in peak hrs

The Ministry of Water and Energy announced Wednesday that due to a lack of production reserves in the electricity sector, it requested that the public avoids using energy-consuming appliances during the peak hours.
It stated there could be a shortage of production capacity, which could cause temporary power cuts in some areas.
On Wednesday, at 7.30 p.m, the electricity demand is expected to reach the peak demand for 11,000 megawatts power.
The ministry requested that the public refrains from using appliances such as washing machines, ovens, driers, vacuum cleaners and dishwashers between the hours of 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
