Putin opposes 'outside intervention' in Arab Spring

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday said that the Arab Spring must be allowed to run its course without foreign intervention.
Speaking after a meeting with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, he said that from the beginning of the Arab Spring, Russia has held that "democracy has to take place independently and without outside intervention."
Russia and China have both stood in the way of strong UN action on continued violence in Syria.
