Rafi Eitan restarts pensioners party

Former Minister of Pensioner Affairs Rafi Eitan announced on Monday that he is restarting the pensioners’ party ahead of the upcoming elections.
The pensioners’ party, which was renamed “Dor” ("Generation") had been represented by Eitan at the Knesset in 2006 with seven seats but when it ran again in 2009, it couldn’t pass the electoral threshold fixed at three seats and lost it’s place at the Israeli parliament.
“Since 2009, we’ve learned our lessons: we re-organized the party and continued to work in silence for three years,” Eitan said to The Jerusalem Post.
“We aimed at the next elections, we thought they would happen in September or October 2013 and us too, like the rest of Israeli people were surprised, but we were already ready,” he added.
