Rate of time-clock refusers in hospitals further declines

A day after the Health Ministry said 60 percent of hospital doctors clocked in when they started work the first time it was required, the ministry said on Thursday that the figure had "risen significantly to 70% in government and Clalit Health Services Hospitals."

Rebel doctors had said they would refuse to clock in because it was "degrading" and they also work outside the medical centers -- overtime that is not counted.

The government had threatened not to pay overtime to any doctor who did not punch a time clock or use a cellular application with the same purpose or that they may not be paid at all.
