Rebel leaders press UN envoy for Libya ceasefire

RABAT - Libyan rebel leaders met a United Nations special envoy in the eastern town of Tobruk on Tuesday and demanded that Muammar Gaddafi's forces to lift a siege of several towns and implement a ceasefire.
Abdel Elah Al Khatib, special envoy of the UN secretary- general, held his first meeting with leaders of the rebel forces and heard about suffering and hardships caused by the fighting over the future of the North African state, his spokesman said.
