'Red Cross asks Mashaal for sign of life from Schalit'

Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross met with Hamas head Khaled Mashaal in Damascus in recent days, Channel 10 reported on Monday.

The ICRC representatives attempted to convince Mashaal to send a new sign of life from kidnapped soldier Gilad Schalit before the Passover holiday next week, according to the report.

Zvi Schalit, Gilad's grandfather, said that if the Red Cross does not succeed in visiting the captured soldier in the Gaza Strip, that it should halt its visits to Hamas prisoners in Israel.
