Rehasim: Pregnant mother, three children struck by vehicle

A mother in her seventh month of pregnancy and her three children were struck by a vehicle in the town of Rehasim, south east of Haifa, police said on Monday evening.

Magen David Adom Carmel crews and paramedics evacuated the 30-year-old mother in critical condition, her five-year-old son in serious condition and her two other children, aged three and one-and-a-half, in light condition, to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.

Channel 10 reported that after emergency surgery, doctors were unable to save the unborn baby. The mother remained in critical condition.

Police were at the scene and investigated the driver.

The accident was described as "severe."
