Report: Assad's father-in-law expresses horror at crackdown

Syrian President Bashar Assad's father-in-law Dr. Fawaz Akhras said that he is "horrified"  by his son-in-law's suppression of the uprising in Syria, the UK's daily Sunday Express website reported Sunday night.
According the report, Akhras, who lives in London, said that he begged Assad to "make democratic changes before it's too late." He also expressed concern for the safety of his daughter Asma, Assad's wife, according to the Sunday Express
