Report: Egyptian national named 'interim' al-Qaida chief

Egyptian national Saif al-Adel has been chosen as interim leader of al-Qaida, in the wake of Osama bin Laden's death, CNN quoted a source close to the group as saying on Tuesday.
Adel, also known as Muhamad Ibrahim Makkawi, was chosen to be "caretaker" leader of the group under pressure from the global jihadist community, uneasy with the lack of a formal announcement of a replacement for bin Laden.
