Report: Syria adds death penalty for weapons smuggling

Syrian President Bashar Assad issued a new law Tuesday that would make weapons distribution a crime punishable by death, according to the official Syrian news agency SANA.
The law also included a 15-year sentence to those convicted of weapons smuggling and a life sentence to those convicted of weapons smuggling with intent to traffic or commit acts of terror, according to the SANA report.
