The Syrian army has laid mines at the border with Jordan in order to "restrict access to humanitarian asylum in Jordan for Syrians," according to an "informed source" speaking with Jordanian daily

Al Ghad that the mines were laid specifically to block access to citizens in the Deraa governate - the site of some of the earliest anti-government protests that took place this year - and the city of Al Ramtha.
