Report: Turkish military investigates alleged treason

ANKARA, Turkey — Turkish newspapers reported Tuesday that military prosecutors are investigating possible treason involving two officers who allegedly discussed how to disrupt a mission by an Israeli-made drone that was spying on Kurdish rebels.
Bugun newspaper alleged in the report that Turkey's intelligence agency intercepted a 2007 telephone conversation in which one of the officers said the Heron surveillance drone was causing too many losses to the rebels.
Citing unnamed military officials, Hurriyet newspaper reported that the investigation was delayed by confusion over which military court had jurisdiction.
The military refused to comment on the issue.
