Report: UN nuclear monitors to visit Iran late January

TEHRAN - Senior UN nuclearofficials will visit Iran on January 29-31, the Islamic state'senvoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said onTuesday.

Vienna-based diplomats last week said the IAEA team wasexpected to travel to Tehran later this month, seekingexplanations on concerns that Iran may be trying to developnuclear weapons capability.

"This trip is another sign of the transparency of Iran'snuclear activities and the country's cooperation with the agency(IAEA)," Iranian Ambassador Ali Asghar Soltanieh told Fars NewsAgency.
