Rivlin: There's no point in punishing Arab MKs

Gilad Schalit Law, makes situation difficult to release him
In the Monday Knesset committee meeting which convened to discuss sanctions against the six MKs who traveled to Libya, Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin said he requested to partake in the hearing in order to "protect the Knesset."
Rivlin stated that "you can accuse Israel of many things, but not on its standing as a democratic state."
"I urge you to think about both the matter of principle and the benefits. I estimate that in terms of benefit, the Knesset won't bring to justice even those who in the eyes of many MKs harm the very existence of the State of Israel," he added.
