Royal wedding parties staged across Australia

SYDNEY - Plastic tiaras and wedding dresses were dusted off, top hat and tails pressed, and gin and tonic, champagne and Pimms the favored tipples, as Australians held royal wedding parties across the country on Friday.
A large outdoor screen in Sydney will broadcast the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton live, just like it was a major sporting event, with Aussie "wedding guests" greeted by a Queen Elizabeth look-a-like and seated in wedding chairs.
In one of Sydney's trendiest night spots, the Ivy ballroom, the Australian British Chamber of Commerce held a high-class, A$200 ($218) a head, wedding cocktail party.
A few blocks away, Sydney's gay and lesbians held a same-sex royal wedding party, with guests enjoying slices of a giant wedding cake baked by Gaycakes and a wedding gift bag which included a booklet on same-sex marriages.
