Russia deploys S-300s near Georgian border

S-300 air defense missile systems have been deployed by Russia along the the border of the autonomous Georgian region of Abkhazia, Russian Air Force Commander General Alexander Zelin told Reuters reporters on Wednesday.
Zelin announced that various other air defense systems have also been deployed in the autonomous Georgian region of South Ossetia, agencies reported.
Russian, Akbhaz and South Ossetian forces fought a war with Georgia in 2008. Moscow considers both regions as belonging to its sphere of influence in the Caucasus.
