Russia jails military officer as US spy

MOSCOW- A Russian court jailed a military officer working in its strategic missile program for 13 years on charges of spying for the United States, Russia's FSB security service said on Friday.
The FSB said that Lieutenant-Colonel Vladimir Nesterets, who worked as an engineer at Plesetsk launch pad in northern Russia, pleaded guilty to passing sensitive information about Russia's strategic missiles to US intelligence services.
"During the hearings, Nesterets pleaded guilty to passing classified information about the latest Russian strategic missiles to the CIA," an FSB statement said.
The agency did not provide any more details on the charges.
