Sa'ar: Jewish education essential to Israel's future

Jewish education is essential to the future of Israel, Education Minister Gideon Sa'ar (Likud) said on Tuesday.

"The key to our future is education, Jewish education. This is a shared challenge for Jews the world over. Jewish education – learning about our roots – is the source of our true strength to deal with all of the difficult problems and challenges that still stand in front of us."

Sa'ar's statements came during a speech at an education at the European Conference of Jewish Communities' European Jewish Education and Youth General Assembly in Paris.

During the speech, Sa'ar also vowed to launch a committee of Jewish educators from around the world to work on issues of Jewish education in Jerusalem.
