Samaria police pursue cell which disguised itself as police

A cell in Samaria that has recently been disguising themselves as police officers and stealing vehicles, was chased in a joint operation by Judea and Samaria police detectives and a police YASAM unit.

A red chevrolet used by the cell was spotted on Route 55 near the village of Uzon late Tuesday, driving erratically in the on-coming lane of traffic, and breaching a checkpoint near Karnei Shomron.

As police pursued the vehicle, it attempted to ram the police vehicle and then entered the village of el-Haje. After several warning shots, police shot at the vehicle's tires, causing it to flip over. Three Palestinians escaped from the car and one was injured in light to moderate condition from the shooting.

The identities of the suspects are known to police who will continue their investigation.
