Saudi Arabia offers trilateral talks with Iran in Kuwait

Saudi Arabia is willing to have a dialogue with neighboring Iran if the Iranian leadership is willing, The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported Wednesday.  An arrangement to have Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi visit Saudi Arabia was already underway, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal said during a joint conderence with British Foreign Secretary William Hague.
Tensions had mounted between the two Islamic countries, Iran Shi'ite and Saudi Arabia Wahabi Sunni, over Iran's alleged nuclear program. A senior Saudi official had said that Saudi Arabia would have no choice but to pursue nuclear weapons if Iran did the same.
